Wedding videography Rockliffe hall, always different.

Wedding videography Rockliffe Hall, it’s different every time we visit this 5* venue, why? Well apart from the many rooms that are licensed for civil ceremonies (we have filmed in each one) it’s the people that make the wedding so different and personal. This is why we always enjoy filming weddings, even if we have been to the venue many times before, there is always a new angle to find, a unique aspect to the wedding that makes it a new experience each and every time. Here Negin & Rob’s wedding also included a traditional Iranian (Persian) Wedding sofreyé (wedding spread) and of all the wedding videography at Rockliffe Hall this was a first for us anywhere. You can see an example of this part of the ceremony in our featured wedding video highlight here.

What is the sofreyé?The sofreyé is perhaps the most important element of a Persian wedding, and what makes it unique from all others in the world. Sofré is the word for tablecloth in Persian. sofreyé aghd is very similar to the sofreh set at nowruz, the Persian new years. Like the one set for nowruz, the sofreyé aghd also directly hails from Zoroastrian tradition, and it has changed very little in the last few thousand years. The tablecloth itself is normally either on the floor on a rug to prevent slippage in an indoor wedding, or constructed on wood raised from the ground about 6-8 inches in an outdoor wedding. It is usually covered by either a simple cloth, or an elaborate cloth called a termé. Usually the bride’s mother spends several months before the wedding gathering elements of the sofré- these elements are both objects that are near and dear to the hearts of the bride and groom, and elements that contain imagery and symbolism relating to their impending union. This example of wedding videography Rockliffe Hall is just one of many we have filmed this year.

Weddings at Hardwick Hall Hotel, they don’t get any grander than this – find out why?

I am sure all weddings at Hardwick Hall Hotel are grand occasions in their own right but Jordan & Matthews was off the charts. Lets start with Jordan’s wedding dress, this was a designer silk gown created by the bridal couture queen Caroline Castigliano with silk zibeline, one of the world’s most expensive fabrics. While the average UK bride is said to spend around £1,000 on her dress at around £9,000 Jordan’s dress is almost half the average budget for UK weddings, which now comes in at an astonishing £21,000

This may not come as a surprise to many as Jordan & Matthews wedding featured in a Channel 4 documentary “How the Other Half Wed” that aired earlier this month. In the program it revealed that the no-expenses-spared bash held at one of Jordan’s family’s hotels included £7,000 on importing over 6,000 hydrangeas, orchids and roses from Holland, the hire of a 20-piece brass band and a Victorian carousel to entertain guests. If you didn’t get a chance to see the CH4 program here is Jordan & Matthew’s wedding video highlight.

Matfen Hall wedding video

Helen & Bryan’s civil wedding ceremony took place in the Great Hall at Matfen Hall, after the ceremony they took advantage of the fine weather and stunning gardens for the drinks reception and some photography with the Hall providing the backdrop. When Helen & Bryan first came to meet with us they loved the end highlights we showed them that often follow the main wedding video and they especially liked the black & white and slow motion that we often use to convey a timeless reminder of the more emotive aspects of the wedding day. We used various additional pieces of video equipment including a GT Glidetrack and glidecam to create another dimension to what would otherwise be simple static shots. These tools together with many years of experience and a creative eye culminated in the following wedding video highlight.
